Unofficial Student Records are available for students at 333 East Campus Mall #10101 and through the My UW-Madison web portal. They are also available for Advisors and Deans at most Deans' offices. Please be aware that Campus Copy Transcripts carry neither the official UW-Madison seal nor the Registrar's signature and are not official University documents.

Along with course information, Student Records include student memoranda (e.g., a Dean's Action) not printed on Official Transcripts. Student Records are provided to students, Deans, and Advisors for personal and internal campus uses only, such as student advising.

Student Records may be requested in person at #10101. One form of picture identification (preferably a student ID) is required. There is a limit of one copy per student per visit; however, they are printed on plain paper and may be easily copied. A current student may also request one through the My UW-Madison web portal; it will be e-mailed to you. (Go to the 'Student Record' tab, order through the 'Request Your Student Record' module. If this module is not visible, please access it through the MORE button, located on the top left of the page.)

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: If a UW-Madison college, school, department, or facility (e.g., the Memorial Library, Language Lab) has placed a "hold" on your student record, a "release" from the unit placing the hold will be required before a transcript can be provided. We advise you check for holds on your record before making a request. You may check for holds through the "Fines/hold" module under the Student Record tab in My UW-Madison. See Fines & Holds--Where to Clear.
